RAFT Guidebook for Human-Centered Anti-Violence Workspaces
Incorporating self-care into our daily practices is essential -- but it cannot be the whole answer. Through our work with advocates, we’ve seen that true sustainability requires both: individual tools for self-care and systemic change within organizations and across the gender-based violence ecosystem.
Our hope is that these resources make your work easier, that they can promote positive conversations and changes, and in the end reduce turnover, decrease burnout, improve staff morale and make an overall positive impact on your organization.
The RAFT team has been collaborating to compile these resources since early 2024 into a Guidebook, and we will continually add and update this document as we go.
The first part focuses on Advocates, and resources for Individuals. Future releases of the guidebook will focus on Leadership and Relationships and the third part will focus on Organizations and Community.
This guidebook is not a final solution, but it is a launching point for transformation: helping individuals care for themselves, while equipping organizations to care for the people who make this work possible.
The First Part is available to download now!
The first part of our RAFT guidebook compiles resources we've previously shared, plus new resources on career planning, and self-care in an 80-page pdf! We've made the guidebook easy to navigate with clickable table of contents, hyperlinks to references, and fillable worksheets. You don't even need to print anything if you don't want to!
